    Why you used the word depth here? depth of eyes – the sharpness or beauty or intensity of his look you meant?

      Depth is used to refer the measure of lies he spoke.


  3. Your first line is about wanting to let go. The second line about sudden awareness and indignation. Luckily drowning for you was figurative. The speaker in the poem has not really drowned at all. She is alive and kicking. The Scottish band Simple Minds even have a song titled Alive and Kicking…Great compact poem here.
