#Poem 26 : Karwachouth

Facing his fears
Of leaving love behind
He fights on the border
For the nation’s mankind

With a thirsty throat
And empty stomach
She prays for his life
For his good luck

Wearing his uniform
He is heading ahead
In the war of life
And frightening death

Well dressed like a bride
She looks up the sky
Waiting for the moon
Hiding her cry

As the moon shows up
With his memories
She looks at his picture
Forgetting all the worries

She breaks the fast
With a teary pray
His home returning
And safe stay.

Just a bit of random thoughts.

Well, for those who dont know what is Karwachouth…

It is a festival in India in which wives fast for a day for the long life of husband and fast is broken by looking at the moon and their beloved.

    he fights
    for their country.
    she prays
    for his safety.
    and between
    their sacrifices:
    the moon bears witness;
    to this divine love,
    that protects all.
